Newbie Confused: Redbird Jay & Ezdock Cameras?

I'm just setting up my Redbird Jay FS….which arrives today.

I see lots of recommendations to use Ezdock with Redbird Jay, but despite looking at the website and google searching I'm at a bit of a loss as to all the references to "cameras".

What the heck are they talking about, and what exactly will Ezdock add to the simulator experience?

By the way I'm going to use TrackIr with the setup.

Also would love to hear about pointers/tips for setting the Redbird Jay up, software advice, or just your experience with the products.
