Forced parking spots...

Featured Replies

I noticed when landing tonight (flying a filed flight plan) at KBJC ATC had a predetermined parking spot setup for me. That's fine I guess but I wanted to park where I setup some FSE scenery. I activated my flight plan that would take me from KBJC to my final destination of Van Nuys only to find I couldn't request clearance until I slewed to the parking spot ATC had pre-designated for me. ATC randomly chooses these spots with no predetermined reason so what I'm wondering is will this be the same with FSX???

Hi,There is a logic to the assignment, but I'm not sure what it is (it may be the next open spot at the top of the list, or the one closest to your taxiway, etc.). I hope that the parking codes set up for the AI aircraft in FS2004 makes it's way to the user aircraft in FSX. That would take care of most of the problem. Another thing that would be nice would be to be able to request parking to the gate, and then (if desired) get a list of available gates to choose from (much like the current Nearest Airport list when VFR).Take care,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
