RE: How Immersive should FSX be?

Featured Replies

There was a suggestion a while back by a forum member that MS should create the world leaving 3 parties populate it.We know that there will be some sort of adventure generator and more immersive tasks.Looking at the superb screens of the Ski Plane on the mountain top snow made me wonder whether MS shouldnt have detailed areas of say the major Ski Playgrounds of the world (being a lover of Skiing)Helicopters and Ski planes could run Skiers up to the Peaks. Medical Helicopters could collect the injured. These slopes would have detailed runs with Skiers rather than (Birds) populating the slopes.Fed up of ferrying and in this scenerio you would be able to take to the slopes and ski or snowboard down yourself through those woonderful forests and slopes.ANY OTHER IDEAS ANYONE??? and is this the sort of broad appeal fun immersion element we the hardcore simmers want :-)nb just a fun topic to see what other fun scenarios come out.Peter

I am all for the ideas Peter, but I'd like to see it implemented more in 3D that in my imagination, kinda like FSCargo, where you see and have actual pax or cargo to transport and if I am delivering skiers to a site, I should see other skiers on the slopes, moving trams, people around the helipads to add to the immersion. There are some sceneries that have some of these, so it can be done.Even just a CG cut scene when you reach your destination, using the MDL and the textures of your aircraft showing the pax or cargo being let out or unloaded would be a satifying ending tom a flight.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

It would be nice if more than one cloud bitmaps' names are supported, so the weather engine can change ,for instace, different cumulus depending on the condition. So far, one can have only one cumulus bitmap since they are all named the same and the new version overwrites the existing one so they can't change along the route. (the cirruses are an exception)It would be also nice to see some more supported axis; this way it would be possible to assign my otherwise unused twisting joystick axis to the nosegear?http://www.fspassengers.com/images/banner/sig/sdc6.jpg
