Making Captain Sim 767 Wings Match Fuselage

Featured Replies

So I will start out by disclosing that I do NOT own the Captain Sim 767. At least not yet.

I was approached to do a repaint by a friend that DOES own the CS767, and he's doing all of the texture tests and shooting me back screenshots for fitment and testing purposes.

As the wing paintkit is a flat texture, I was getting frustrated with being unable to get the color on the wings to match the fuselage. I found a workaround that seems to do the job in Photoshop, but when I get screenshots back from my buddy, it looked as if something just doesn't match up. I'll let the screenshots that he sent me do the talking. The first shot is what I have for the wings, the second is the center fuselage/wing box and the third is the result when loaded into the sim.

Am I missing something in the spec maps or anything along those lines? The more I look at it, I am thinking that the fuselage reflection is what is causing me issues, but I can't seem -- no matter how hard I try -- to get the fuselage to be as matte as the wings.

Thanks for any input on this and thanks for reading through all this.
