September 8, 200619 yr Hi there...I experienced a crash at EDDF while looking at AI planes, the performance was good, yet upon looking towards T1 the textures blinked and then froze... Then A directX related crash was reported.I managed to track down the aircraft texture that was responsible, it turned out to be the Aeroflot A320 repaint by Aleksey Lisitsyn, found in this file: ev320afl.zipI opened the texture in a program called DXTBMP viewer or so, and it stated that this was a normal 16BIT image, which it normally does not say upon opening a BMP.I had been using the 32BIT repaint, and I switched it with the included DXT version of Aleksey's repaint- now Frankfurt doesn't crash. What is it with 16BIT, is it normal for my sim to crash because of this? Many thanks!Boaz.
September 8, 200619 yr Author Hey Boaz,You should take the time to change all of your AI textures to DXT. I have found that nothing cured stutters better than this...As for your original question, I don't know, I have seen 8-bit 16bit and 32 bit textures so I am not sure...Go for it and get all the AI to DXT though, it is a HUGE difference. MT offers a great batch tool if you happen to use it.-PaulPrimary RigLiquid CooledAMD FX-57 @ 3 gigsAsus A8NSLI-Premium2 gigs Corsair XMS PC3500LL 2 3 2 6 1TXFX 7900 GTX 690/1750XFX 7800 GTX 515/135024 inch Widescreen LCDDual 19 inch LCD'sRaid-0+1PCPower and Cooling 1khttp://home.comcast.net/~psolk/3monitorsa.htmlBackup RigAMD 4000 San Diego @ 2.72 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2XFX 7800 GTX 515/1350 Raid-0http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/155858.jpg Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
