Bug with End Flight? (FSX)

Hi,I am attempting to get back to the main menu to select a mission. If I hit escape or select "End Flight" from the menu, FSX drops to the desktop with FSX appearing in the bottom tray. However, I cannot select it or close it. Any help would be appreciated. ThanksBob..
