FSX tip I read on the other site....seems to work!

Featured Replies

I visited the other site where there is a dedicated forum for FSX, and I picked up a tip from a post, signed DMD, that worked well in my FSX Demo2.Hopefully, it will work in the FSX Retail version. I was really getting tired of the "jumping graphics", especially the Baron, and it seemed as though the smoothness was just not there. The tip was to increase GLOBAL TEXTURE RESOLUTION to VERY HIGH!Also, to check Anisotropic IN THE SIM, and let your card be anisotropically controlled by the sim. AA is still set on the video card from what I gather. It seems that after I did that, shut the sim down, and restarted FSX Demo that the shimmering and jumping graphics were gone! Also, my frames were up on the runway and in the air (I set my frames to UNLIMITED). I averaged high teens to the 40's from Juliana to one of the outer islands.Today, I have a Dell Dimension 2.8ghz, 1024 Ram, and NVidia 7800 256mg card. My new Conroe with twin 7950 cards and 4gig Ram is coming at the end of the month.I must say that this tip worked for me. I hope it has a postitive impact for some of you. Stan

WOW :-)I hear ya!Worked a treat. Man I hate these little tweaks that aren't officially documented.Hope I don't have to do this in the RTM. Will I?Nels
