FSX: panning in cockpit mode?

Featured Replies

Running the FSX-demo I have those static views in the 2-D cockpit again. In FS9 adding the line "pan_in_cockpit_mode=1" (in the CONTROLS sections) enabled looking freely around using the joystick hat switch. And with CTRL-ENTER and CTRL-BACKSPACE I could move the view point up and down.I already tried to add that line to the .cfg file, but it makes no difference.Any suggestion how to 'fix' this is appreciated!Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg

Hi Jozef,Panning up/down in the 2D view is now done with CTRL+Q and Shift+CTRL+Q - per the list of key functions in the kneepad (and controls assignments also). The "normal" function of the 2D view can be converted to "panning" BUT you will get the Virtual Cockpit views after you go past a certain viewing angle. To change from snap-view to pan with the tophat, change these lines in the Cameras.cfg:(CameraDefinition.001)Title = CockpitGuid = {B1386D92-4782-4682-A137-738E25D1BAB5}Description = This is the description of the cockpit viewOrigin = CockpitShowPanel = YesSnapPbhAdjust = Ordinal // Ordinal and True = normal "snap view"SnapPbhReturn = True // PanPbhAdjust = Ordinal <<<<=== set to Swivel to panPanPbhReturn = True <<<<=== set to False to not snap backTrack = NoneIt is a different sim in many aspects; there are changes - some may take some getting used to. It isn't FS9 any more, sorry.Hope this helps a little.Loyd

Hi Loyd,Thank you very much, that was just what I was searching for. It is a little bit different from FS2004 but it works just fine for me.Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg
