FSX up and running in California

Featured Replies

Earlier this evening I was playing around with the idea of going out and seeing if I might find a copy of FSX for sale someplace. I had almost resigned myself to waiting until the 17th but the exitement was continuing to build. So I jumped into my pickup truck and headed out toward an area where several different stores are located. Oh the thrill of the "Hunt". My safari didn't take too long because the first Game Stop I tried had one copy of FSX left which I purchased.I went home created a partition just for FSX and began the installation process which went smoothly without a hitch. I went ahead and activated right away (fortunately my key code was correct and I didn't have any problems). So I fired up the Sim right out of the box and set up a VFR flight plan from Las Vegas NV to Sacramento CA. I jumped into the Baron 58 and enjoyed quite a fireworks show while I was getting ready to request taxi clearance. The vehicles driving on the roads outside the airport added allot to the immersion factor for me. I taxied out and took off with out any problems. I flew for quite a long time just to make sure the Sim was working OK. I didn't finish the flight because I was getting pretty tired and needed to go to bed. In the morning I might do the flight again with the Lear.I'm sure a lot more tweaking and tinkering will be needed to optimize the Sims performance but Overall I really like what they've done with FSX. I think its Way Cool and will only get better as time goes on.flykingVirtual Aviator
