Framerates query

Is it my imagination or do FSX framerate numbers mean something different to their FS9 counterparts. I ask only because in FS9 if my FR went below 10fps I had major stutter, whereas in FSX in cloudy weather I can have 8-10fps and everything seems much, much smoother, not perfect, but different (and tolerable) nevertheless. Anyone else experiencing such anomalies?

hi delsutton, i notice the same thing. 10fps is not that bad in FSX. its not brilliant and i would love alot more but its definitely flyable. on one occasion i had 9fps and it was still fairly smooth and on another occasion i had 14fps but i found it jerky (possibly a few stutters). i think as long as the fps stays no lower than 9fps i think its flyable. only when you do turns at these frame rates do they look a little bad. 10fps in fs2004 would have been very ugly.

I agree as well, so far love the lack of stutters or pauses, very fluid.Regards, MichaelKDFW
