Aircraft veer of the runway in P3d v5

Featured Replies

This is an odd issue. I have installed both the PMDG NGXu and the CS 757 into P3d v5. Both seem to work fine except that the planes literally veer of the runway upon attempting to roll down the runway for takeoff. I know technically these planes have not been updated for P3d v5 yet, but I can't understand why this is happening. Considering that several others are not having these issues it has to be something on my end. I did re-calibrate my controller, but since the default aircraft work fine I am at a loss. Is there perhaps something I am missing? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Pete

Is there a certain direction they go or is it random?

The plane always goes to the right pretty much immediately once the throttle is engaged full forward. It will practically go in circles if you let it.

Are both engines spooling up or just one? I know sometimes the throttle axis will only advance the left throttle.

Also when you look at the rudder pedals on the floor are they stuck with the right pedal?

Wow, I didn’t even think of that. I will check my throttle settings and let you know if I only have one engine configured. The rudder does seem to be working correctly as I did a rear spot view to check. Thanks for you input!

No worries. I had that issue when I first used anything PMDG and had to make sure the throttle was set correctly. If you have paid fsuipc use that.

Well, how dumb do I feel! I didn't realize that when I set up my controller I had it set up to control only one engine and not the entire throttle axis! So it is exactly what you said! Thanks for your assistance. One other thing, the CS 757 works perfectly now but for some reason the the PMDG 737 NGXu (yes, after my rant the other day I gave in an bought it because I couldn't help myself) seems to take forever to get to rotation speed and then rotating is very difficult, even at 150 kts. I thought maybe it was to heavy but that wasn't it. Any chance you have an idea about this one?

Cheers, Pete

Could be weather, weight, engine derate etc. I need at least some of that info to know.

I’ll have to look into that. I don’t have any weather engines currently installed and I changed the weight to be in a normal range. I also haven’t fully configured the FMC yet as I just set the flaps and trim and took off. I will see what happens when I set it all up.

Cheers, Pete

Thanks for your help! Once I actually set up the FMC for a real flight the problem is gone.
