Network error: Client authentication response timeout

Featured Replies

Hello,

I recently have gotten back into Flight Simulation on VATSIM and have been enjoying it a lot. To improve my performance, I have moved to a newer computer and have reinstalled all the necessary software including vPilot. However, after going through the necessary setup, and opening FSX, when I try to connect to the server, it gives the the error "Network error: Client authentication response timeout" following which I get disconnected from the server.

I don't have a solution to this problem. I have tried running both FSX and vPilot on Administrator, reinstalled it a couple of times, and even try the recommended compatibility settings. However none of these have produced and results. I am out of options and hope someone here can help me fix this problem and get back to the sky's.

Regards,

CaptainMidway

I've been having the same issue for the last 3 weeks, i've reset my internet, connected to the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz wifi network, checked my ping (8ms), tried every single server option available, uninstall and reinstall of vPilot and still nothing is working. The weird thing is, it only makes this an issue when i'm in the UK (Orbx true earth GB south + Orbx England installed) everywhere else, for instance Dubai, New York, Toronto, all of it works perfectly fine on VATSIM. It's a shame, since my airline isn't flying a whole lot right now, i wanted to keep my flows etc current with the sim... Anyone with an idea for myself and CaptainMidway, it'd be greatly appreciated!

I've been facing the same issue as well for more than a month now, been knocking each and every forum that google could possibly find. Tried all the possible solution listed like those mentioned by "danieirch & captainMidway" but still the issue remains same. The only thing that worked for me until 2 days ago was to connect  Vpilot to Vatsim-Sydney server, now since it is  decommissioned, I'm back to square one.

Any Help or Advise would be highly appreciated !!

To add up, below are the few steps tried so far:

  1.  Uninstalled Bitdefender Internet Security installed on my machine and disabled Windows defender.
  2. Restarted and even did complete reset of the Router multiple times.
  3. Installed a copy of FSX Steam that I owned previously on my second machine and tested only to get the same result.
  4. Tried port forwarding on the Router as suggested in a different forum (though it was an older post)
  5. To isolate any Vpilot issue tested with Swift Client too but still receiving the  error.

One important thing that I've noticed lately after reading the above post from user "danieirch" is that it is occuring only while flying from majority of the Airports in Europe !!

My issue seems to be more serious as regardless of whether I am flying over EGLL or KJFK, my sever doesn't want to work. I have come across some other causes that include this issue being limited to the Gulf Region where I am currently living. Another hypothesis is that the internet provideds here have cut off some web services including VATSIM to make room for other important applications such as Microsoft Teams Google Classroom....etc  that are being used in Schools and Offices around the region. I am still open to any suggestions however this is my conclusion - meaning I wont be flying VATSIM anytime soon.

I have also tried VPN however this didn't work adding further credibility to my hypothesis above. Hopefully I am wrong and someone comes up with a solution.

I have just spoken to a supervisor online. He will ask some network managers to take a look at the matter and see if they can resolve it. I will post aby developments here or you can follow my Vatsim Forum as I expect a reply from them over there.

Yep, adding to CaptainMidways and zaheerzafarullah, I am also living in the gulf region, specifically the UAE, seems like it's a regional issue that's caused by ISP's fiddling with bandwidth. Very frustrating!

You're not the only one. It's just the ISP word not allowed around with everything and blocking word not allowed and it really word not allowed me off that they do this, their drive to make money is insane and I hope they get incinerated in the oil they're swimming in. Unfortunately the only way to get around this is to use a VPN.
