FSX auto reboot : a Weather.dll issue

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I had to do a complete reinstall of Windows (now run on W10) but could kept my FSX which has been tweaked over the last 8 years on my hard drive. I wanted to rerun it but had to do some FSX reinstall for it to work : so a second copy of FSX is installed and my old good copy ran good for about 3 weeks (I had a backup of FSX.cfg, scenery.cfg etc.). But now, after 2-3 seconds a flight is loaded, FSX stops and reboots, again and again.

I'm now out of ressources and would love to find a way...

This is what I did up to now :

Red the Crash to desktop guide (new ressource to me, what great tool! Thanks!)

Ran Appcrashview and Windows Event manager : this is a Weather.dll issue

Deleted weatherstationlist.WX and default.wx files

Deleted Previous flight.FLT .FSSAVE .WX

Deleted FSX.cfg

Copied the original textures back in the main Texture folder and Scenery/World/Texture folder to remove the REX texture files.

Dialed down all the setting in FSX.

Replaced weather.dll by a new one : FSX just didn't reboot

Ran FSX with Clear weather

In paralel, my new copy of FSX works with the same FSX.CFG as the old one, so I guess the issue is in the main FSX folder.

Now I don't have a clue. Any new idea? Thanks very much in advance.

I found in another thread that FSUIPC could be involved because it is loading .wx files.

Removing FSUIPC (v4.94) makes FSX to works.

Putting back FSUIPC and removing .wx files does not work. This is where I removed .wx files. Any other .wx files (and related) I could have missed ?

-wxstationlist.bin in the same folder than FSX.cfg

-Mysavedfilght.wx in the same folder than FSX.cfg

-All .wx files in the Document/Flight simulator files

Also, when I put back FSUIPC in FSX and load the sim, on startup I got this message:

Flight Simulator has detected a problem with a third party software program (add-on): Name: FSUIPC.dll Version 4.974, Do you want to run this software (not recommanded) ?
