P3Dv4 shuts down while flying

Recommended Posts

Dear members,

I recently bought a new PC for the upcoming FS2020. I installed my P3Dv4 on it, just for the time being. But I got a problem which comes back so now and then. When I fly certain routes, fe: Detroit - Chicago, the sim turns itself automatically off and brings me back to my desktop. When i'm flying Amsterdam - Düsseldorf, nothing happens and it is all fine during the flight. So P3Dv4 shuts itself down so now and then, which is really annoying. I really don't know what the problem here is and what to do...

After one of the shutdowns of the sim, I checked the Event viewer. I came accross two errors:

1st one, time: 13:51:11

Application: Prepar3D.exe
Framework-versie: v4.0.30319
Description: the proces was terminated due to an unhandled exception.

Faulting module name: terrain.dll, versie: 4.5.14.34698, time stamp: 0x5e94b52d
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00000000000e30df
Faulting proces ID: 0x1718

Rapport-id: 03468cb8-710e-4a23-916f-0bd4326393f7

I hope some of you can help me out with this! I would really appreciate your replies!

UPDATE: I changed the p3d.cfg to p3d.cfg.off . I did the same flight where I got the CTD and nothing happened, I flew without any CTD. I hope this is the solution, but keep my fingers crossed. If some of you have another method to fix my CTD, please leave them below! It's much appreciated!
