July 15, 20205 yr Founded in 1956 as Northern Airways, Air North originally provided air-taxi services from their base in Burlington, VT. In 1968 Air North started scheduled services as a replacement for Mohawk Airlines in northern New York and neighboring states with Twin Otters. In 1972, Air North became and Allegheny Commuter carrier but ended the partnership in 1979. Ultimately taking delivery of 5 Short 330s, they operated as an independent commuter airline with connecting hubs in Binghamton and White Plains, NY as well as Burlington, VT while also maintaining several point-to-point routes across New York. In 1984 the airline was purchased by the Brockway Glass Co. and merged with Clinton Aero to form Brockway Air.
