  1. Carenado released two versions of the Caravan, the "C208B Grand Caravan HD" and the "C208B Grand Caravan EX HD" and they have different cockpits. The EX model has the modern G1000 cockpit and the non-EX version has a more traditional set of instruments. You have to purchase each version separately if you want the different cockpits/cabins and it sounds like you purchased the EX version.
  2. It's not a perfect kit, there's no master fuselage or tail included, but I have included a paint layer and some details like updated door decals and I've included the mapping/cataloging/color coding of the tail textures to make repainting them at least manageable. There's probably over 40 hours of work spent in mapping the tail textures alone. It is provided as-is and other than what's already included I can't provide much in the way of support but it's a more manageable start to a repaint than what is given by Carenado by default. You can download it by clicking here.
  3. Founded in 1982, Atlanta Express offered service from Atlanta to points in Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama in an attempt to capitalize on the loss of major airline service to small cities in the southeast. A second hub was soon opened in Charlotte, NC but the airline struggled financially and was merged into Sunbird Airlines in 1983. You can download the repaint by clicking here
  4. I've painted two variations of American Eagle Short 300s, one operated by Metroflight Airlines and the other operated by Command airways. You can download both repaints by clicking here. ======================================================= Metroflight was set up by Metro Airlines in 1974 to operate services from the new Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport and on November 1, 1984 it became the first American Eagle carrier flying Convair 580s. In September 1990, Metroflight merged with Chaparral Airlines which also operated American Eagle services at DFW. On April 1, 1991 its parent Metro Airlines filed for bankruptcy and was acquired by Simmons Airlines on May 28, 1993. ======================================================= In 1984 Command Airways started an affiliation with American Airlines as part of the American Eagle system and in 1988 AMR Corporation purchased and renamed them AMR Eagle/Command Airways. In 1991 they were merged with Nashville Eagle to form Flagship Airlines and then in 1998 Flagship Airlines was merged with Simmons and Wings West to become American Eagle Airlines.
  5. Originally founded as Mid-Hudson Airlines in 1951, Command Airways was the first operator of the Short 330 in the USA taking their first delivery in 1976. In 1984 Command Airways started an affiliation with American Airlines as part of the American Eagle system and in 1988 AMR Corporation purchased Command. In 1991 they were merged with Nashville Eagle to form Flagship Airlines and then in 1998 Flagship Airlines was merged with Simmons and Wings West to become American Eagle Airlines. You can download it by clicking here. I've also included an EditVoicepack *.evpmod file with the COMMAND call sign.
  6. In U.S. military service the Short 330 was designated C-23 Sherpa. The C-23A and C-23B are similar to each other but the C-23B features full cabin windows. The C-23B+ is a Short 360 derivative that was created by replacing the rear fuselage of used Short 360s with the twin tail and rear loading ramp of the C-23. The C-23C was a modification of C-23B and C-23B+ aircraft with newer avionics and the C-23D had additional updated avionics but only four aircraft were modified to this standard. You can download the repaint by clicking here.
  7. Forgot the link. You can download the repaint by clicking here.
  8. Founded in 1956 as Northern Airways, Air North originally provided air-taxi services from their base in Burlington, VT. In 1968 Air North started scheduled services as a replacement for Mohawk Airlines in northern New York and neighboring states with Twin Otters. In 1972, Air North became and Allegheny Commuter carrier but ended the partnership in 1979. Ultimately taking delivery of 5 Short 330s, they operated as an independent commuter airline with connecting hubs in Binghamton and White Plains, NY as well as Burlington, VT while also maintaining several point-to-point routes across New York. In 1984 the airline was purchased by the Brockway Glass Co. and merged with Clinton Aero to form Brockway Air.
  9. One of three Short 330s used on inter-island services by Hawaiian Airlines, N372HA was named Pua Melia. In Hawaii, the pua melia (plumeria) symbolizes positivity and is used in making a Lei or for celebrating special occasions. The flower is worn over the earn to indicate a woman's relationship status. A flower over the left ear suggests she is taken and over the right ear suggests she is available. You can download the repaint by clicking here.
  10. Carenado released a pseudo Aer Lingus repaint with their included liveries, but it didn't have any titles or logos and had the wrong registration. Given the texture mapping on the tail I can see why they didn't finish it, but I would have figured that would have made them go back and remap the textures instead of releasing an obviously incomplete repaint. I've painted two variants for BEH, the first in standard Aer Lingus colors and the second in a rather plain Aer Lingus Commuter scheme. For the Commuter scheme I admittedly went a little lazy, the registration font isn't 100% accurate (I just copied the same from the full color paint) and the shamrock on the tail isn't the right size or in the correct location, as it was slightly smaller and placed a little lower on the tail. Given the insane texture mapping on the tails by just reversing the colors from the full scheme I was able to do the tail in minutes instead of hours and I feel the compromise is acceptable. You can download both repaints by clicking here.
  11. Once the largest commuter airline in California, Golden West shut down in 1983 due in part to overwhelming debt payments associated with their fleet of Dash 7s. Click here to download. I have also included an *.evpmod file for use with EditVoicepack containing the Golden West call sign.
  12. It's posted now and available from my site and will soon be in the Avsim library. I probably could have spent a little more time tweaking the main titles, but after a week of fighting to get the textures I was willing to accept it as-is just to be able to take it flying. You can get it from my site here. -Nick
  13. Progress is coming slowly, frustratingly slow because in typical Carenado fashion the textures are impossible to draw a straight line on, but it's getting there.
  14. So silly me decided I wanted to paint a few 330s and chose MVA for my first one. I figured I would start on the tail as it's not a super complex logo, but given Carenado's history of splitting apart the fin, the rudder, and the trip/servo tabs, it usually takes a bit of trial and error to do the alignment. I was pleasantly surprised that, while split into the normal pieces, the three main parts of each tail are fairly decently aligned and it was easy to match the main parts of the tail logos. I wasn't expecting. however, that the little bumps on the tail were individually textured. And not just in a matching overlay but separated. They are all lined up in seemingly random order and tucked into various parts of the texture that don't align with their position on the tail. By my count there's 288 separate bumps that are individually textured. Carenado is not known for making user friendly textures but this takes the cake. I have so far spent over 6 hours just trying to texture the tail. My OCD means I will struggle through and finish it, but while I really do like the plane and have a strong desire to paint more, I doubt I will do more than this one. Which is a pity as this, along with the 360, are full of good examples of the heyday of independent regional airlines of the 1970s/1980s in the US with plenty of examples from airlines that either came and went in an instant or which were eventually absorbed into the larger regional carriers we know today. Here it is after about 6 hours of work spent locating the tail bumps and trying to match the textures. To add to the fun the bumps aren't even scaled the same as the mail tail so I can't simply locate the appropriate section of the mail tail then past onto the bump texture.
  15. A little late, but I finally got it done and it's in the Avsim library.
