CH Yoke and ground steering - FSX?

Featured Replies

Guys,Despite all the negative vibes around i'm very pleased with my FSX deluxe, think it looks awesome and the FM's seem a lot better than FS9.However I cant seem to get my CH Yoke to steer when taxiing? I've ticked auto rudder (& unticked auto rudder) but cant get my aircraft to steer at all - used to work fine in FS9. Anyone got any ideas how to resolve this ?Also noticed intermittient losses of elevator control requiring a reboot ?MickUKBTW, 25-30 fps with all the mods, autogen 'dense', bloom off no AA, most settings high but traffic low on;P4 3GHZ HT Prescott2GB 3200 DDRBFG 6800GS OC 256mbXP Pro SP220" CRT 1280x960x32

Interesting, no issues at all with my CH Yoke and steering.I did have to go in and remap all my Throttle/Prop/Mixture as well as my buttons though, since they were different than FS9. Maybe check the Assignments?

Yeah maybe - i'll go in and reset everything again !Prob something silly!Mick

The best fix for this is to get a pair of rudder pedals :)Yes, I know you would if you could, and it's not really a helpful answer. But I believe the most important tool you can get for FS is rudder pedals, then after that TrackIR 4. They improve the experience a thousand fold. Forget about that next addon, use the money for a pair of pedals. But, back to your original question, yes, I, too have had the problem that the sensitivity of the yoke drops to nearly nothing occasionally. Don't have any answer as to why, it hasn't happened too often. And then I started thinking about, well, what about those people who couldn't use rudder pedals even if they had them. I wonder if there is a market for and would anybody want a trigger sort of mechanism activated by the thumbs that could be clipped on each side of the yoke that could be used as rudder pedals?Would it be better to have them activated by the thumbs or fingers? After thinking about it I'm thinking it might be better to have the triggers point in towards the center to be activated by the fingers rather than trigger buttons pointing towards you to be activated by the thumbs.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180
