July 18, 20205 yr Originally founded as Mid-Hudson Airlines in 1951, Command Airways was the first operator of the Short 330 in the USA taking their first delivery in 1976. In 1984 Command Airways started an affiliation with American Airlines as part of the American Eagle system and in 1988 AMR Corporation purchased Command. In 1991 they were merged with Nashville Eagle to form Flagship Airlines and then in 1998 Flagship Airlines was merged with Simmons and Wings West to become American Eagle Airlines.
