October 25, 200619 yr Hey guys!I've been reading all the different posts regarding the multiple issues with FSX upon installation. To tell you the truth, I haven't been that impressed with the simulator. To get a new version that just doesn't work, or requires a lot of tweaking it's just not confortable for anyone.I found out, however, that with my current PC specs I was able to get decent frame rates for the time being while we find some more tweaking around the software. What I really wanted was:1. Have autogen enabled, at least not full but some of it. (I really prefer not to use my FSX against my FS9 that currently has autogen and works perfectly. It's not an option to disable it)2. Have land and water traffic enabled. (one of the nice new features of the sim that need to be enabled, at least to 50% on all 3 features)4. Have buildings at the airport, scenery to Very Dense5. Have decent performance with all of that enabled. When I ran the simulation for the first time, frame rates were at 4-5fps most of the time so it was ####. I came to the forum and went into the Tweaks section. I did the trees tweaking as well as the building roof autogen tweak. There are other tweaks that require modifications to the FSX.CFG file that I also followed to some degree.I also made sure to have the latest directx 9 patch applied which I downloaded from Microsoft. Yesterday I did a flight around Panama and noticed that mostly my frame rates were between 10fps and 20fps, sometimes getting to 22fps which is not that bad for what I was getting before.I believe what is getting me from not getting more is the Autogen but that's something I am confortable with now. Now, here are my computer specs. You will see that it's not a great system but I am getting good performance out of it.Pentium 4, 2.6GHz1GB RAM60GB SATA Hard disk 128MB AGP video card CH Virtual PilotCH PedalsCH Throttle QuadHope Microsoft can find a solution to the following:1. Scenery development problems on the ground2. More tweaking on the autogen which I believe most of the problems are happening to users3. Updates on the status of fixes, etc and if they are working on any right now.Well guys, I hope some people can benefit from my experience. I will keep tweaking the system to see if I can get better performance. My 512MB video card is on its way although I don't know if it will benefit me at all vs the 128MB I currently have.Teo Teofilo Homsany
