October 26, 200619 yr I did search on this here and on the web and have tried the following to fix this problem (2nd disk won't start up - hit the button after putting disk two in and the put the disk dialogue box just pops up again.)I have:1. Installed all MS updates2. Removed all temp files and files from install attempts3. Tried installing in safe mode (won't work - the install program won't go)4. Tried installing in diagnostic mode5. Tried installing with limited start up programsNo go. And I gave up on MS Support after two hours on hold. Any suggestions? Colin WarePortland, OR

October 26, 200619 yr Or disable any DVD management software like Nero.(Maybe AVSIM can sticky this since this is the 3rd post total I've seen.)
October 26, 200619 yr Have you folks actually done this, because there is no joy here. I don't have any dvd management software running - nothing in the system tray, no Nero. And the second disk will not let me copy it over to the hard drive - it hangs up on art objects. Any other suggestions? This is the second copy of the program - I took back the one already. What are the odds two are screwed up? Colin WarePortland Oregon

I did see mention some time back of someone curing their DVD #2 problem by "wiping it clean" as there seemed to be something on the surface from the double-stacked packing method. Worth a try in any case, however since it's your second copy it seems to be peculiar to your system setup. BTW, I do have one of the mentioned DVD-CD burning programs on my system and I never had to disable it. Paul
