Need Camera Help Please

When I load up a flight and everything comes up I have to set the camera to Smartcam immediately or else the camera is panning around. When I do this immediately after I hit the right mouse button or the scroll wheel on the mouse, the view zooms to 1000% and I can't see anything. Am I correct that to move around in the cockpit you push right mouse button and move the mouse? I can't get past this and it's very annoying. Any help at all would be appreciated, thanks!
