Question about transitions ...

Featured Replies

This is difficult for me to explain, but i'll try

KMIA is my destination airport. I choose Star ANNEY4 with transition MLB.
Now I choose Approach RNAV-Z 30 with its transition FLIPR.

My issue is that KAINS and VKZ will cause the route to be irregular. If they are removed then the route seems correct.
So flying to VKZ and then to FLIPR does not make sense.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's a shame that I cannot upload an image.

You have to select STARs, approaches and their respective transitions which fit together. Combining the wrong procedures can result in zig-zag routing. I cannot do this automatically.

Quite often you don't need an approach transition if you use a STAR since the latter one guides you directly to the approach FAF.
