FPS back to 24, after deleted a default.xml

Featured Replies

Hi all,Just need to understand why..?, After I deleted a default.xml fromAutogen folder. My frame rates at FSX from 18fps ramp up to 24fps.even at KLAX, is very flyable with default aircraft. (Of course I tweaked with Matt Fox methods). Just need to understand why?, or just a bugs from MS..?B/Regards...Alex Ooi

Look at the size of that file and then compare it to the one in fs9. It is huge and contains hundreds of varieties of different autogen-by deleting it you are reducing the variety and complexity.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

Even my low end machine can get 24fps when that file is deleted. You can do the same by just turning of autogen, and scenery complexity. Deleting that file will also delete all custom buildings and tree.

Ok you get 24fps, but... where is vegetation in urban area? I prefer FS9 with all vegetation and 50fps ;-)

...and I prefer more realistic flight models (at least in the Baron) at 25-40 with the more high res ground textures. Isn't it great to have choice? Enjoy fs9-it is great-so is fsx! :-)http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg
