August 26, 20205 yr Please read before making assumptions and ignoring. Hello, I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum area to post my question. If it isn't, my apologies. I have a disability that makes it very difficult to use traditional joysticks. We're all aware of the shortage of flight controllers since MSFS20 was released as well. My powered wheelchair's controller has built-in Bluetooth mouse capabilities that allow me to use it as a mouse. Since sims like FSX had options to use a mouse as a joystick, I was fine. Sadly, FS20 doesn't offer this ability. Does anyone know of any software that forces games to see a mouse as a joystick? The only way to this point that I've been able to enjoy FS20 partially is to use AI and AP abilities in combination. I want to take full control so that I, too, can enjoy the world of FS20. Any assistance in finding some solution will be immensely appreciated! Thanks in advance and happy flying.
August 26, 20205 yr The mouse does have an x-axis that can be mapped, but it lacks a Y-axis, so that it a problem. I found this video on Youtube that explains how to setup the mouse as a yoke: It requires some third party software. I haven't tried it but according to comments it seems to work. Hope this works for you. August 27, 20205 yr Author Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, this won't work since there is no way to switch from flying to navigating the mouse's cockpit. Virtual Controller does have start/stop hotkeys (F5 and Shift-F5), but those hotkeys won't work unless Virtual Controller is in the foreground. If there were a way to switch from mouse to joystick modes within FS20, Virtual Controller would be the perfect solution. Perhaps I should post in Microsoft's forums and shame them for removing a feature that FSX had and abandoning a key accessibility feature. I'll continue to look into getting Virtual Controller working the way it needs to in FS20. I appreciate you bringing this software option to my attention. 🙂

This sim literally has an entire options page titled 'Assistance', and if it has a page with that title on it, in my opinion that should feature assistance for people who would benefit from physical assistance with controlling stuff. Might take them a while and a bit of work, to implement it in their sim, but then again it would be very good PR for them if they did, so it would be worth their effort to do so.
