Trouble with knobs?

Anybody else have trouble with these knobs? I find them a bit finicky with the mouse...by the time I get my course selected my altimeter is way off by accidentally adjusting it. Also cannot switch NAV frequencies while zoomed in...have to zoom out a bit first but then it is too small so also a but finicky.

Also is the g1000 a bit glitchy? I have trouble with the FLC button...I could be using it wrong as I normally use VS to adjust altitude...but sometimes the FLC doesn't engage. 

Others have reported that FLC doesn"t always work in G1000 and they have to revert to VS
