September 8, 20205 yr Hello, I have P3D version 4.5 installed, specifically version 4.5.12.30293. I have seen that on the P3D website I have the option to download an updated version, specifically version 4.5.14.34698. I would like to know if: a) Is it worth installing this new update? b) Can P3D be updated without having to uninstall the old version together with all installed addons? Thanks in advance a greeting
September 8, 20205 yr a) I moved back to P3Dv3 a couple of months ago to fly FSLabs Concorde-X exclusively, so I couldn't tell. Here you have the list of changes: https://www.prepar3d.com/news/announcements/2020/04/116273/ b) For minor updates, just use the client installer, as per P3D instructions. Thanks in advance a greeting As Ramon suggests, uninstall v4.4 client and then reinstall v4.5 client should work fine, and only takes 10 minutes. As for if it's worth it - v4.5 was a little better than v4.4, but they were both good, stable versions of the sim. Of course, I'd personally go for a v5 upgrade, but there are plenty who are still happy with v4.x. As for v3 - you'd need to have a very specific reason (compatibility) to use a 32-bit sim in 2020! I do still keep it installed, though - also for old addon compatibility reasons - but the difference between v3 and v5HF2 is pretty impressive.
