Blind pilot questions regarding Quality wings 787, PMDG, Mag

Featured Replies

Hi,
So since I was going slightly off topic in my previous message I figure I would start a new one with my questions more formulated.
Since MCE is completely new to me, I'm very curious about a few things. I did write the developer who very prromptly not only tried his best to answer my questions, but sent me over to this forum thinking, more than likely correctly, that other BVI pilots could answer my questions with more thorough responses.

Taken directly from the email.
1.    By default, at least in some payware aircraft (for instance the Aerosoft planes), the standard control+E keystroke does not work to start the engines. I take it that, with all supported Aircraft e.g. Captain sim 777, Quality wings 787, PMDG 737 there are procedures put in place for this using MCE? So, telling the FO to start the engines (or some variety of that) after the pre start checklist was completed should, in theory, get them up and running?
2.    As an addendum to my previous question, a lot of these aircrafts do not interface well, if at all, with the sims default autopilot, which is what I use to fly. I use a piece of software called fs tramp – located at http://www.fstramp.com/ to fly with. Using this, I am able to add a flight plan, take off, climb, change heading and speed, as well as land and manage my waypoints. I can also arm approach mode – using the sim’s default keystroke – control A and have FS tramp follow the glideslope and localizer. Can this be done using MCE? How can I manage the various FMC’s using it so that I can, for instance, fly direct to a waypoint if a controller asks me to? Is there a way MCE can interface with the various payware aircraft autopilot systems enough to be able to enable approach mode, if asked, or fly and follow the localizer/glideslope? I know the Quality wings 787 has an auto landing feature – is it at all possible for MCE to interface with this? This is probably the thing I’m most excited about – having the ability to actually use a plane’s built in flight management system. Maybe even get MCE to tell me what VOR we are closest to instead of just the waypoint – so I can really sound professional when I contact ATC and I can tell them I’m 20 miles from <insert VOR here>!
3.    I know this is a lot of questions and I truly do apologize. My final questions are in regards to fuel/payload. Is there a way for MCE to be able to interface with these various fuel and payload manager since I’m assuming they are so advanced that they will not take values from the simulators default fuel and payload manager? I really think there is so much to be leveraged by being able to interface and control the flight management computer/systems on these aircraft – especially the payware ones that take so much time and effort to interface with to begin with.

Any other observations are much appreciated. I would love to know how you use this, how it works for you and what you recommend. I'd really like to find a Quality 787 and A330 - thus looking at Quality wings and Aerosoft - however would be nice to have the PMDG 737 max-8 when they start flying again. However I know for a fact that the default autopilot in the sim does not work with PMDG planes, which is where MCE comes in. I would also love to have a dash8 that can start successfully - the freeware version I have will not start at all and so maybe having the magestic one will allow one to go through the various checklists and flows and have the first officer start the engines.
Again, I am well aware fs2020 is out. However P3d v4-v5 are all working fine, and fs2020 really dropped the ball on audio, in my opinion. Was really hoping for something like XPlane's ability to have amazing sound.
