How to replace DVD1 for Simulator start with a USB Stick

Recommended Posts

I found a way to substitue DVD 1 requirement for Simulator start with my oldest and smallest USB Stick:

Format your USB Stick with NTFS and rename this new Volume to: "MSF Disk 1"      (mind the Spaces!)

Copy all data over to your USB Stick EXCEPT Cab 1 and Cab 2 (not required, reduces content size down to 11MB)

Remove your DVD 1, then start MSFS2020 and wait for the "Insert DVD 1 Message", then plug your USB Stick in any available USB port

Wait for recognition of the USB Stick (took quite a while on my system) then press "continue"

DONE!

Hope it works for you as well!

Happy Landings ,

Martin
