Error when starting FSX

Featured Replies

Someone on another forum had a suggestion. I uninstalled, then reinstalled to a different directory. I hadn't realized it before, but the install wasn't finishing completely. This time it did, and fired up the Readme and tried to run the sim. But, the symptoms of running the sim didn't change. Same crashes on startup.Looking for more ideas.Drake

I am getting something similar...when I start FSX, I get the splash screen for about 3-5 seconds, then it goes away and stops loading. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it does not. Getting pretty cheesed at this point. I've done everything I can think of. FS9 works great with everything maxed-out, and when it starts FSX works great. It just rarely starts. I'm getting tired of removing/reinstalling, repairing etc., I spend 3hrs getting it to start, then have no time to use it...grrr. Sorry...I'm not being helpful, just need to rant. If I figure something out I'll post it.

The other forum suggested I reinstall Windows. I'm holding off until SP1 is released. Any day now, it appears. I'm hoping that will fix things.Drake
