Why is SQUAWK always 1200

When a player enters a session they are almost always on a radio FREQ. of 118.75.How can I change it so that when a new player enter a session that I am hosting, they are on the right FREQ? EX GROUND OR TOWER????Also: does anyone know how to use the SQUAWK code to ID players aircraft. I some sessions I will ask a player to change their SQUAWK but all I can see is 1200.:-jumpy

just a wild guess--coz, like in real life, that's the setting they turned it off with last time? in fs that would probably mean these are the values saved in your default flight. look it up. i think fs initializes all it can based on your default flight and cfg parameters; loading a different scenario only changes what is explicitly set as new in that scenario... but, geez, how many times have i been wrong!:-)

1200 is the Squawk for VFR.For IFR or VFR with flight following ATC will specify the Squawk Code.I wish, its always 1200 by default in the aircraft I fly in the real world too. Sometime... The previous person who used the flight in IFR has their code say 4321 in it and forgot to switch it back to 1200 when they finsh their flight and I followed that flight and did not check the transponder and take off in VFR without fligt following. ATC is going to see this orphan Squawk in their radar they'll probably be doing a check on where this flight came from and if they have goofed up or what.... :)MannyNevermind,.,.,,you were asking about radio Freq.

Also know and avoid any emergency and reserved transponder codes. Code 0001 is reserved for government and some military purposes. I never have found out what for certain but the rumor is that this is reserved for Airforce One.7600 signals radio failure. I used it in multiplayer when FS2002 got wonky once and my radio quit working I ended up getting chewed out by ATC for changing from my assigned code. I thought the controller would recognize it for what it was but he had the notion that I should have exited MP, rebooted my sim and refly the flight from the beginning. I figured that since I was simming real life aviation I'd handle the failure like real life. Differences of opinion I guess. :D7700 is emergency. It's most common to accidentally tune in these codes when changing from one frequency to another so say if you needed to go from 2700 to 7200 you should change to 2200 first not 7700.Oh and by all means avoid 7500. In the world as it is today this is likely to get a lot of guns pointed at you when you taxi up to parking. This is the code to signal a hyjacking. :D
