October 21, 20205 yr Hi, I am new to flight simulation and have encountered some issues I haven't been able to resolve. I have consulted the forum and also manuals/tutorials but cannot fix the issue. Windows 10 new build PC LINDA 3.2.6 for P3D 64-bit FSUIPC 6.1.0 Module PMDG 777 version 1.5a P3D v4.5.14.3 PMDG 777X VRinsight MCP Combo II Boeing, Flightsim PM 777 V2 Throttle quadrant. I previously had installed and had the MCP Combo working in the above and added the required entries to the 777X_Options file. I was unable to locate the Modules folder in the P3D root directory, however was able to install the PMDG 777 module using the Linda Maintenance. The LINDA configuration checklist is all green for everything, however when I start the sim and load PMDG 777 the MCP Combo lights up and displays but the only buttons that replicate movement in the aircraft are the flight director switches. I have searched all day for fixes and rechecked each step, but haven't been able to find a fix! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks John Barwood
October 21, 20205 yr Hi John With FSUIPC6 all LINDA files are located in /documents/prepar3d v4 addons/fsuipc6. For me to see what is going on please read and follow the Fault Diagnosis Procedure (under LINDA Support) and email me the logs to the address given. Also include the /linda-cfg/config-mcp2.lua file. October 22, 20205 yr Hi John Thank you for the logs and files. The simple answer is that FSUIPC6 is not finding your MCP2 (Boeing) on comport 0 or comport 3. Use Win10 Device Manager or VRSim.exe to find the correct port number. This should be entered in LINDA Setup Combo and the make changes button clicked to add it to fsuipc6.ini. Additionally, the config-mcp2.lua is not configured for the PMDG 777. I would expect the main knobs and buttons to have the PMDG_ prefix. I suggest you delete the present file and let LINDA re-create it from the config-mcp2.default configuration. PS. I am unable to advise on the throttle setup. LINDA does not handle axis. October 22, 20205 yr Author Hi Andrew, Thanks. I have checked the port using VRSim.exe and its definitely comport 3. I rechecked it and selected the change button to confirm and restarted both and still the same issue. So if I just delete the entire LINDA profile and start again, hopefully it should rectify both problems? Thanks, John
October 22, 20205 yr Hi John You don’t need to delete LINDA. Just the existing PMDG777 config-mcp2.lua file. I would check the [vriinsight] block in FSUIPC6.ini is showing COM3. After starting P3D, FSUIPC and LINDA check FSUIPC6.log to see that FSUIPC is finding and opening the VRI. It should say that it can see your MCP2and that it is connected. October 23, 20205 yr Author Hi Andrew, I have done an uninstall and fresh install of both LINDA 3.2.6 and FSUIPC6. I have enabled data broadcast and also set COM3 as the port as confirmed with VRiSim. I also imported the PMDG 777 Module 1.5a using the maintenance page. On the MCP setup page everything is green and ok. On the Summary page everything is green. After starting P3D FSUIPC and LINDA I checked the log and I do not see any reference to the MCP2 at all, so I assume it is not seeing it. I have emailed the log to you. Thanks, John
October 23, 20205 yr I wish you hadn't reinstalled everything. It puts us back to square one. There are several more errors in the fsuipc6.log that we need to address. The good news is that all the files appear to be in their correct locations. This time fsuipc6.ini is not even looking for the VRI Combo. Although VRSim.exe helps identify the comport, it can not be used in parallel with fsuicp6 and LINDA. Ensure that it is not running. Also check that you have entries in fsuipc6.ini [vrinsight] block. You also need to reactivate the Fault Diagnosis Mode to generate a complete log. When LINDA first runs it needs to create the default configuration files config-hid.lua and config-mcpX.lua for each aircraft. This means you may need to click on Reload LUA Engine a couple times until there are no "LINDA:: ---> ERROR" lines. October 23, 20205 yr Thank you for the latest logs and files. The fsuipc6.log shows that FSUIPC has detected the VRI Combo: 328 VRI port 1 "com3" opened 9984 VRI MCP2B ("MCP2 Boeing") detected on port com3 and that LINDA is loading the correct configuration file (config-mcp2.lua) for both the Default and PMDG 777 aircraft: 69391 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] Checking VRI 69406 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] Enabling VRI 69406 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] Check File Exists "linda-cfg/aircrafts/PMDG 777/config-mcp2.lua" 69422 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] ConnectMCP - Connecting to MCP Panel... 69422 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] ConnectMCP completed - 4 69422 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] InitMCP - Initialising MCP... 69578 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] MCP Connect Command sent 69734 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] MCP Reset and Connect completed 69734 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] Initializing MCP2 (Boeing)... 75953 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] RADIOS : Empty command for :: COM1 Select 76016 LUA.4: LINDA:: [COMM] InitMCP - completed The PMDG 777 config-mcp2.lua is also correct with the expected functions. Please confirm that when you start P3Dv4.5 does the VRi Combo MCP display flash. Does the display update before LINDA reports Ready? October 23, 20205 yr Author Hi Andrew, All loads up fine now. The MCP2 now has the correct displays and the dials and buttons all function. Thanks for all your help! John
