For the jetways to work, you need to have scenery set to at least dense (so they show up!) and advanced animations has to be enabled on the graphics tab (the first one).CTRL-J extends and retracts the jetways, they do take some time and hardly look like they are moving at first - seems to be different speed for different people oddly, but mine take about a minute. They probably take that long in real life, it's one big peice of machinery! As for the problem of running into the terminal, sounds like your default flight has it's engines running and brakes off, there's a few ways round that - first you could just delete the default flight file you are using, and then load up the sim (it will complain it can't find the default flight, but don't worry about that!) and create a whole new flight, or you can just set your aircraft to say on a runway instead of at the gate, get things under control and then set it back at the gate! - or you can do the following (I am assuming you use a joystick for flight control):1. As soon as the sim is done loading your flight, press Y to enter SLEW mode (make sure your joystick is centered or your plane could shoot off in who knows what direction!).2. Move your aircraft back a bit from the gate by moving your joystick back slowly.3. Press Y to exit slew mode, then immediately press CTRL+.(period) to put on the parking brakes, and then CTRL-SHIFT-F1 to cut fuel to your engines.4. Once the engines have stopped use SLEW mode again (or just restart your engines with throttle back, and just taxi forward) to reposition your aircraft.5. Stop, make sure parking brake is on and engines off and re-save your flight, being sure to check the 'make this the default flight' checkbox.
