FSX opens but doesnt load

Featured Replies

I've been playing FSX for a few days but the last time I tried to load it the loading FSX window comes up but thats it. No home screen or anything. I've tried everything from deleting my fsx.cfg to reinstalling three times. I'm at my witts end and am about to take the DVDs and use them for ballistics testing.

You may have a corrupted logbook.BIN. FSX hanging on the splash screen is a symptom of that problem. Rename your logbook.BIN and try to start FSX. It's located in "My Documents", "Flight Simulator X Files". If it comes up then you'll know that's the problem. I was able to recover my corrupted logbook but it required a hex editor and some digging around. Somewhere here in the past couple of weeks I posted what the problem was and how I fixed it. Search for "corrupted logbook". Paul
