November 4, 20205 yr After three days of downloading the reinstall at 2mb/s, the only speed at which the dreaded download loop reset did not occur, I've got the sim on my second drive and it's running again. Somehow, it kept some config files, since I did not have to reconfigure my joysticks. The uninstall apparently does not fully uninstall the sim. I do notice, though, that the icon points the some very long cryptic path on my c drive. Is this normal. Is there a way to backup the sim so as not to have to repeat this next time if it crashes? I am assuming that with the way MS has tied the sim , a backup is a waste of time and disk storage. tc
