November 14, 200619 yr I just tried and failed this mission for reasons I will not divulge so as to not blow the surprise(s). But I highly recomend it for a nice IFR flight.Anybody nail it on their first attempt?Best Regards, Donny :-waveFLYing? It's cool. Trillions of birds and insects can't be wrong.
November 14, 200619 yr OUCH!!!! I didn't quite get that close...Best Regards, Donny :-waveFLYing? It's cool. Trillions of birds and insects can't be wrong.
November 14, 200619 yr Would have nailed it if it wasn't for my computers frame rates crashing me... its probably the hardest mission on there... a little unrealistic if you ask me... All i recommend is don't start chasing needles or your hooped!
November 14, 200619 yr I have to agree that this is the most difficult and frightening mission I've flown so far.But I was lucky and succeed on the first shot. Lucky also, because I forgot to save midflight, was too much immersed.Didn't expect that sort of flight because it was the 3rd or 4th mission I flew and didn't notice the difficulty level at briefing.:-roll Of course I will not enter in details, all I can tell you is you'll not be safe until you set the parking brake at the airport! ;) Yesterday I flew the Archeological's supply mission with the Goose in the north peruvien area, and Holly Cow !!! :-eek
November 15, 200619 yr The second try was the charm, and I ran into two more surprises I hadn't gotten to before. A hair raising experience, kudos to the guy who dreamed this one up!!!Best Regards, Donny :-waveFLYing? It's cool. Trillions of birds and insects can't be wrong.
November 15, 200619 yr I did manage to nail it on my first try. Like one of the other posters, I forgot to save, and was lucky to get through, as it would have been a tough one to redo!http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...s/Goodale01.jpg
November 15, 200619 yr The "Limited Options" one is tough for me. If I turn back, I was short about 3 miles and had to ditch in the water, and when I kept going, I came in too high and ditched again! These missions are very exciting and sometimes very hard. I loved it when the FO was going through the before landing checklist and I'm thinking to myself, "we're about 50 feet from hitting the water, don't think I need a checklist at the moment!" As for the Yakutat Mail run, very tough, I'm gonna give it a go again pretty soon. Any body else think these planes in FSX are a bit too responsive?
