Graphics Card

Featured Replies

Hi there,I am considering a new graphics card and am considering purchasing a 256 speed card to replace my older more dated 125. I apologies for my ignorance!!Will this make any change to my poor and rather erratic frames, i am considering replacing another n vidia g force graphics card. I have an AMD3000+ which provides me with a very disappointing 2.17ghz!!! I am considering downloading the updates on some of the textures - although i'm not sure if it will make too much differenceAny constructive comments would be grately appreciated!!JetSet843D

What is a 256 speed card? If you mean a card with 256 MB of memory then yeah that will help. I would go no lower than a 7900gt and would consider an 8800gts if i were you. I also assume that your old computer has a PCI Express bus and not AGP. If it is still AGP then you are fairly limited as to what kind of upgrade you can get that will give you any real increased performance. A video card upgrade isn't really what will give you any performance increases with this game anyway as it is too CPU driven. An entire machine upgrade would be needed if you really wanted an increase in performance. the card might give you a 10% increase in framerate with better, smoother visuals but as far as seeing any marked increase in FPS it will do nothing.Dave
