November 21, 20205 yr For all those who like flying the steam gauges airplanes like I do, such as the C172 or the Robin, I am sure you already noticed this, but it may be a reminder or good information for those who don't know. I was flying VFR for sightseeing and was doing some screenshots of the cities I was flying over. After a certain time, I noticed my gyro-compass was completely out of phase with my compass, which was strange because it was a short flight and I didn't do so many turns. In fact, this was because I was using the active pause for screenshots... When you initiate a turn, the gyro-compass obviously turn accordingly, but if you engage active pause, it keeps turning even though the plane does not move any more. So when you disengage the pause to fly again, the gyro-compass is completely wrong. Pressing D after disengaging the pause is a good workaround, but anyway I think it is good to know. My Web Site
