Hi eveybody,Today I found out that setting the Level Of Detail Radius Slider either to minimum , medium or maximum it makes no difference on what I see on my screen.The framerate also stays the same.In the FSX.cfg file the Lod=4.5 value does not change and the Image_quality=0 does not change either. Manually I changed the Lod value to 9.5 but no difference.Setting Image_quality to 1 makes no difference either.When flying at 2000 ft and looking in the distance Just the first lower part of the screen is sharp.It looks like the slider is set to minimum and does not change, whatever the setting of the slider is in FSX.I even reinstalled fSX 2 times but no difference.My graphics card is a 7950 and AA is set to 4x and AF to 16.Using the FSXC AA and AF makes no difference.You can check if it is working by chnging the Lod Slider in Scenery.A lower setting should result in a better framerate.

LOD is rendered differently in FSX. 4.5 seems to be the maximum value.FSX.cfg only conserves changes on shutdown. So if you are changing things then opening the .cfg while FSX is running you will not see any changes, UNLESS you have loaded it as a setting as a load/save option.Also, although you may have reinstalled twice, you are still using the original FSX .cfg file and other saved settings, unless you manually deleted them from the applications and data folder. Any tewaks or modifications you may have made to those files may still be having an effect.Allcott

Can you check if the slider is working or not ?

It is. Turn off all autogen and try it. If your computer can't get past the resources black hole that is autogen in FSX you are never going to see the LOD working as it should.Allcott

Good idea ; I will try it.However in the Seattle area where I try this my framerate is 24+ with autogen /scenery density at Very dense.
