Use p3d default scroll zoom and turning knobs

I just got chase plane, I do really enjoy it so far. One thing, I’d like to use the default p3d features with the mouse wheel zoom + turning knobs utility at the same time. Is that possible ? 
 

I have tried to use the scroll zoom option in Chase plane but then I can’t turn knobs. If I uncheck that option I can zoom and turn knobs (BUT the zoom does not stay in position, it goes back each time to its initial value 0.27 something..) 

any idea ?
