November 25, 200619 yr HiIs there a way to orient the map on the Garmin GPS 500 so that the North is always on the top?Stelios Stelios Christofides
November 25, 200619 yr Not sure but check pg 29 of the Garmin Pilot's Guide (http://www.garmin.com/manuals/GPS500_PilotsGuide.pdf)which mentions that there is a map orientation sub-setting available through the Setup-Map menu option. That could be what you're looking for ... Great manual BTW. Learnt alot in 5 minutes :-)T :-)
November 25, 200619 yr Thanks TOn the FSX (Boeing 737 and others) when I press MENU it brings up a blue window that says PAGE MENU and below (No Options). The Garmin Pilots Guide pdf the you mention, is it the real thing or the FSX one? Maybe the FSX version hasn't got the menu settings. Please check on your FSX on the Boeing 737 and let me know.Stelios Stelios Christofides

November 26, 200619 yr Author Use the knobs at the bottom-right, I think the inner knob is the one you want. It has two settings -- airplane oriented and north oriented. The outer knob changes sets of pages of information, and the inner knob changes pages within a set.Steve
