December 27, 20205 yr Hi all I just discovered Little Navmap and I love it. I'd be grateful if someone could help me with a few questions... How can I add my own airport (private field) which is not in the DB? I can add a user waypoint but that doesn't get recognised as an airport for the flight planner How can I add elevation per leg? So if I want to avoid Class A/B etc sometimes I need to fly higher/lower. I'd like to plan this for each leg of the trip. Can the software recommend the best altitude to avoid certain class airspace? How can I remove TACAN without removing all VORs? Thanks very much in advance -Matt

I can add a user waypoint but that doesn't get recognised as an airport for the flight planner If an airfield does not exist in the simulator it won't be recognized by the sim when loading the flight plan. Therefore, you have to use simulator or other tools to create an airfield. ADE (FSX, P3D) or WED (X-Plane) to create an airport. MSFS has built in development tools. 4 minutes ago, GemeenAapje said: How can I add elevation per leg? So if I want to avoid Class A/B etc sometimes I need to fly higher/lower. No. You can limit display off airspaces for your cruise altitude (menu "View") and then change altitude. 4 minutes ago, GemeenAapje said: How can I remove TACAN without removing all VORs? December 30, 20205 yr Author Thanks very much for your quick response and clear answers. One more if I may... how can I remove the grey "tint" over the entire map when I copy to clipboard? It really comes out black on my printer. If I use the print option in the app then it looks ok when printed, but I like to copy first to image editor so I can add text labels and size the page accordingly.
December 30, 20205 yr Author Oh another (Sorry)... is there a way to import my own background image? For example, the Netherlands publishes a free download of the ICAO map here: https://www.lvnl.nl/informatie-voor-luchtvarenden/publicaties-voor-luchtvarenden

Do you use the night mode? You can change the map dimming in options on page "Map Display 2". 5 hours ago, GemeenAapje said: Oh another (Sorry)... is there a way to import my own background image? Difficult. The manual has a few hints and links here: https://www.littlenavmap.org/manuals/littlenavmap/release/2.6/en/MAPTHEMES.html Also check out the pinned topic with new maps: Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
January 3, 20215 yr Author It was the night shading indeed. But it's middle of the day now. I set it to 90% and it's much brighter now. Thanks. I'll check out the other links for my own maps, thanks again!
January 3, 20215 yr Night shading does not switch automatically depending on time. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
January 6, 20215 yr Hi Alex. I'm a total noob to your lovely program too, just discovered it a couple days ago. If you don't mind me butting into the conversation I have a question as well: when selecting an airport for departure, how do I specifically choose which runway I want to depart from? Thanks in advance, and also thank you so much for all the hard, technical work that has went into this utility. It really is an amazing tool. I'll definitely be donating to the cause via paypal.
January 7, 20215 yr @jasonbarron You can define a departure runway only as a start position similar to a parking spot. Or you can use a SID. I might change this for a future version to add a custom departure similar to the "Create approach" function. Have to see. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
