First of all... does no one type anymore?Whenever I try to ask something or request something from Tower through typing, no one ever responds. Actually, now that I think about it, I have not seen one person send a typed message, period.I know... use the headset/mic setup... well the thing is, I am hard of hearing so that doesnt really work for me. Also, I've been seeing stuff like, contact Tower on such-n-such frequency... how does that work?

You are right. My problem is that I can

The problem is that nobody opens the chat window in the game. Unless someone has their chat window open they have no idea that anyone else is even typing anything. I bet a lot of people don't even know there IS a chat window in the game!

When I am ATC in a session, I will always to check the chat. But you can't or (I CAN'T) talk and type at the same time

hmmm... i find voice comms in the game much more comfortable than real-life ones. i'm mentioning this because of your signature; i'm not quite sure what you mean by "hard of hearing". have you tried patching the sound through the speakers while keeping the headset for talking only?i've been on servers, usually marked ATC or PRO, where a high-class "real" controller was easily providing 90% of the great experience (ottawa comes to mind). they are not that many so i would definitely want them to stay the way they areon the other end of the spectrum, there are servers marked with a red speaker in the list--there's usually some healthy finger-chatting thereand of course, there is the big server mass in the middle--you only need some luck to find someone "chatty" :-)it's all about managing expectations i guess--you have to remember that real-time typing is not a natural method of communication for humans in general, not only in gamesas to your second question--i think there's a difference between caps lock and shift caps lock: one sends your voice to those tuned to your nav1 frequency, the other to everyone. but perhaps it has to be enabled on the server, i'm not sure
