Starting in the air - Against my will....

Featured Replies

Hi all. Been away from the sim for a few months. Upon return, and a huge update, I have a problem that wasn’t there before.....

When I select my airfield for departure, it will not allow me to start on the ground, and keeps putting me about 1500’ in the air. There is no way I can alter this in the flight configuration page, as it does not display a drop-down menu. If I start from a proper airport, then I do get the option of on the ground or airborne. But this is no good for me as I like to fly light aircraft from tiny airfields. Is there a way I can get the choice back?

Also, when setting up a flight on the map, it no longer tells me the name of the airfields, but just calls them all “Custom”. Yet when I go flying it is capable of correctly labelling all of the airfields. Again, any way to have this information displayed correctly on the map?

Thats because you are not clicking on the airport. Make sure to zoom in on the airport and click directly on it. Anywhere else and it will say custom and start you in the air

Thanks. I will try again later. I was fairly zoomed in. I’ll get right in this time.
