Window Layout - Two Questions

Featured Replies

As a new Little Navmap user (just a few days now), I created and saved a Window Layout. I can display LNM with this layout through the "Window" > "Recent WIndow Layouts" menu and I can get back to the default layout via "Window" > "Reset Window Layout to Default". I often toggle between my custom layout and the default layout.

Two Questions:

  1. Is there a way to map a shortcut key to my custom layout (and the default layout, for that matter)?
  2. Is there a way—when choosing the default layout—to prevent it from going to my other display monitor? Whenever I go back to the default layout, it snaps all the way over to the top left corner of another monitor of mine.

1. No. Shortcut keys cannot be mapped yet (planned for far future) but you can choose to load a layout file on startup in options on page Startup and Update.

2. No. This is intentionally to avoid the window getting lost on unplugged monitors etc. This function is a sort of "emergency reset" if a layout goes bonkers and is normally rarely used. You can save the default layout to your own layout file which places the window on another monitor.

You can also use the fullscreen mode as a second layout. It still allows to add all the dock windows again and is saved separately from the normal layout. Then you can switch with Shift+F11 between the two.

Thank you, @albar965, for your quick response! I’ll try your suggestions.
Also, if you need a beta tester for when you start implementing shortcut keys—I’ll volunteer. 🤚🏼
