Honeycomb Bravo Mounting?

I just received my new Bravo yesterday and found that the clamps provided will not fit my multiple-use desk. Has anybody used the adhesive pad for an extended period? Does the adhesive wear off after a number of pad removals from the desk? I use my desk for more than one purpose and will need to remove the pad after use. I looked at the newly revised Low Rider underdesk mount at https://www.allsportsystems.com/flight-simulator-under-desk-yoke-mount.php#detailsTab_tab_3 however, it requires drilling a mounting hole 0.75" in depth. The top of my solid oak desk is 1.0" in thickness so I don't think this will work (I have asked their tech support if this is true).

Is anybody aware of any other options for mounting?
