How to specify default replacement in Multiplayer?

Featured Replies

Hi,I logged on to multiplayer for the first time tonight using the Carenado Cheroke 180F. According to the controller, it was aliased on his machine as a Maule, even though there is an AI Cherokee available.Does anyone know how to specify what default plane should be used in FSX if the other user doesn't have the plane you are using?I'm assuming there is an aircraft.cfg line something likeui_default_alias=Piper Cherokee 180 Paint1and then the title of the plane you want used. Thanks!Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

I have a hunch it may be based on the little used "reference" section of the aircraft config file, with FSX scanning them for the closest match, but I could be way off. I'll have to test that theory out.Look on the bright side. Came into a server tonight with an F-18 and one of the pilots in there saw me as an Airbus A380. Fastest, most manoevrable airbus ever made apparently. It had him howling with laughter so at least the substitutions have some comedic value. :)

Well, I'm not sure which was correct, but last night, I was holding short and this - to me - Vought Crusader popped up in front of me on the runway. The controller told me it was a Piper Cub and told me to drive around it and I was clear for take off. Of course, while I was winding up and starting down the runway in my Cherokee, the Crusader flashed past me in full afterburner. I thought it kind of funny, and wondered what the controller saw. :)It'll be nice when aircraft can be shared.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180
