FSX & EditVoicePack Files-Partly Working

Featured Replies

Hello. I was hoping someone would be able to answer this for me.I have read that people have copied over the modified EditVoicePack sound files from FS9 to FSX and it has worked okay. I have done the same but am having a problem.I have copied the USEnglishBig.gvp.evporg & Evp_Accelerated.gvp files to FSXSoundATC. The problem is only the pilot is using the correct information and at the faster speed. The tower isn't doing any of it.For example, the callsign SPEEDBIRD for British Airways is used by the pilot but not the tower. Also, the pilot is speaking at the accelerated rate but the tower isn't.Doesn't anyone have any idea what is going on here? Did I forget a specific file or something?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

All I did was copy over the EVP_Accelerated.gvp file to FSXSoundATC and rename it to USEnglishBig.gvp after backing up the original. Works fine.Jim

I didn't think about just renaming the file. So, I did that but then only got the tower speaking the correct callsigns and at the faster pace. So I also copied the Evp_Accelerated.gvp file over again so that both files were in there. For whatever reason that seemed to work (so far at least). Are you sure you don't have both as well? I couldn't get things to work with only one of them. Either the pilot OR the tower were correct but not both until I had both in there.

I just have the one gvp file in the SoundATC, along with the ASOS folder. Jim

Anyone have any ideas as to why I am not able to do the same?Edit:Well, it turns out (I guess) the reason this was happening was because I had a copy of the original file (although named differently) in the same folder. It must have been picking that up somehow. As soon as I got rid of that it worked as advertised earlier in this thread. Thanks for the info.
