Under Flight Plan menu what are tracks?

Recommended Posts

Just trying to understand everything in this app 🙂

I looked it up on Wikipedia but the description is fairly vague.

Do you ask about NAT, PACOTS and AUSOTS?

They are transoceanic tracks that are changed every day due  current meteo conditions.
Usually they are one way -  based on stream jets' flows.

NAT - North Atlantic Tracks
PACOTS - Pacific Organised Track System
AUSOTS - Australian Organized Track System

Flying over Oceanic areas is very specific - you have to read some publications (SKYBRARY is very good free and reliable knowledge library)

Piotr

ps. This is very good place to start: https://www.skybrary.aero/index.php/North_Atlantic_Operations_-_Airspace  (enjoy oceanic flying, cheers 🙂 )
