December 27, 200619 yr How many posts start with "well in FS9 I used to be able to.... " here goes another.... 1) how on earth do you get rid of the menu bar in full screen mode once activated py use of the ALT key. 2) It wasd possible to adjust the pan rate thus reducing the chunks of movement of view when using the hat key, this was a line in the old FS9 configuratioin file, darned if I can see it in FSX. 3) Lastly please someone put me out of my misery - where is the parking brake lever in the Grumman Goose cockpit?.Thanks in advance and a great New Year to you all.PS I was recently quite relieved at the UK Birmingham FS Exhibition to see more than a few fellow simmers of my own age, really quite surprising.Dave D.
December 27, 200619 yr Just hold the alt key down for a few seconds and the menu bar will go away. Don't know about your other questions.
December 28, 200619 yr Hi Dave,You've stumbled into one of the most changed areas of FSX from previous versions, the cameras configuration. To change your pan rate in the VC, you'll need to open your cameras.cfg file (located in your "documents and settingsyour user nameapplication dataMicrosoftFSX" folder) and scroll down to the camera definition that has the "Title = Virtual Cockpit" line. For me, that's CameraDefinition.002. Under that heading is a bunch of config options, and near the bottom of the section you'll see "HeadingPanRate=". My value for that is 75, but I don't remember if that's default or if I changed it a while back. Try upping the number and reloading FSX, and you should be able to adjust the pan rate to your liking.Sorry, I've got a throttle quadrant with a key mapped to the parking brake, so I haven't gone looking for it in the Goose VC.
December 28, 200619 yr I can't find the actual lever either in the goose. I looked last night for quite awhile and never did find it. I think it was left out. Control plus period will turn them on but you probably knew that anyway.:)
