Flight Instructors - Please read

Featured Replies

very interesting posts guys.I had the opportunity of flying recently with a real world CFI in FSX.Just to put you in the picture, I'm a real world student pilot with 6 hours in an ultra-light Ikarus C42. I had a VFR lesson in FSX and honestly it blew my mind. Before this lesson I would have agreed that probably IFR training would be better suited to FSX or FS9 but........and please forgive me.....VFR training is the basic skills which I suspect if most flight simmers were given a check ride they would fail big time. There is so much more to flying VFR rules than most simmers can imagine. Most simmers probably confuse VFR navigation with VFR aircraft proceedures and holding of attitudes etc.I can remember the first real lesson I had. I told the instructor I had been flying flight simulator for years. I was amazed how little I knew when I did my first lesson using VFR rules. Now had i had that lesson in FSX, just as I had recently with "Bill" then I would have managed my real first VFR flight much better. The net result is it's brought a lot of ideas to me as a developer of how I can learn from a real world CFI in FSX and if there are any real world CFI's out there or ATPL pilots who would like to join me on a venture then please contact me on [email protected] again to eveyone for reponding. It's really intersting. Keep the posts coming.Peter Wilding; GE PRO developer
